A Social Catasphore is Before Us....If we're not careful.....
People are losing their jobs and are losing hope right now. The social structure to deal with such issues in America is lacking. Government is overwhelmed. With States running huge deficits, they simply cannot cope. For instance, the State of California's Unemployment Insurance Fund is facing insolvency right now.
I think President Obama is to be commended for reaching out to his opponents. Although his good intentions are truly being tested and the Republicans seem to take maximum advantage because they are the "loyal opposition" now. We are running out of time, though. For a family in the Los Angeles, California suburb of Wilmington, it was too late. A man shot his five kids, his wife and then himself after he had lost his job and had lost all hope. This is an absolute tragedy of the highest magnitude. We as a society have to figure out a way to make sure we instill hope and optimism. There is no other way.
