Afghanistan Votes: An Update

Afghanistan's election is still up in the air. Apparently, Karzai is ahead. But, fraud seems to be prevalent throughout the country. What I find especially troublesome is the 30% voter turnout. Despite all that NATO and the Afghans themselves have done, the Taliban managed to disrupt and frighten people. I find the comments of Adrmial Mullen ever more disturbing. Despite the surge, there is yet to be substantial progress. Over the last two days, Kandahar has been rocked with multiple car bombs. This does not bode well for the future.
