Ann Coulter's Latest Attempt at Comedy
Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage are in a class by themselves. They are part of this so-called conservative movement that constantly remind the world that they are right and those who disagree with them are just wrong.
Ann Coulter's latest tirade is a an advisory she wrote to her cadre of followers. In part it reads, "...Start with the fact that the average Gitmo detainee has gained 20 pounds in captivity. There's even a medical term for it now: "the Gitmo gut." Some prisoners have been heard whispering, "If you think Allah is great, you should try these dinner rolls."
In terms of "torture," there was "the attention grasp," which you have seen in every department store you have ever been where a mother was trying to get her misbehaving child's attention. If "the attention grasp" doesn't work, the interrogators issue a stern warning: "Don't make me pull this car over.". As I read this, my first impression that she was jealous. She told the world that those who disagree with she and her friends say are "short on facts". Although she is an eloquent, smart and probably a good lawyer, what she fails to address is whether waterboarding is torture and whether someone had to be waterboarded some 183 times.
She is funny and engaging. But, she should be a bit more understanding of the real facts and read the reports that have been issued before she writes on this perception. I am sure that she realizes that. She sure makes things interesting and enjoyable. Such lively debate is needed in politics. It makes it fun and exciting for writers like me to have the time of our lives!!!
