As a New Work Week Begins....
I have been thinking about our World and where we have been. With the 9th anniversary of 9/11, it brought home many of the continued challenges we have. I continued to sigh at the on-going challenges. I continue to be distressed as I see the divisions that seem to be ever more. I continue to wonder whether this "labor of love" that is "Outsiders" is truly worth the effort. As I begin to despair, something gives me hope.
I was listening to Joel Osteen's latest weekly sermon. He reminded us to be thankful and appreciative. He also told us that as we are dealing with the challenges of every day life, we must remember to give praise to the almighty for all the blessing that we have. He talked about a friend of his and about how he almost lost his vision and now truly had an appreciation to see the world around. In his usual uplifting way, he told the Congregation to stop complaining and start praising. There are two examples he used that struck a cord:
1) If you can't sleep, remember all those who have no bed
2) If you're stuck in traffic, remember all those who have no car
I have continued to focus on KP and its' sister sites, Outsider Views and Smooth Political, because I got tired of complaining too. I wanted a forum to assess where things are and where things can be. It is truly believing in the art of the possible.
I do periodically get discouraged when I somehow feel that I can have the knockout punch to push through and truly take "outsiders" to the next level as I continue to refine, revise and think about how best to report out on the key focus areas: Middle East, The Americas, The UK, Europe, The U.S. Economy, U.S. Media, South East Asia and The Evolution of Technology. When I get down, I am reminded of the "Dont' Quit" Poem that an unknown Poet wrote that is so powerful:
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

There are over 4,000,000 hits on the internet and for good reason. I intend to push along. I am forever grateful to Orble for having given the platform to develop this, the entire ever-growing Orble Community and the daily readers who have continually worked to support this work. The cause is just, the journey is noble and it will continue. There is too much to do...and too much to live for.
