At least someone is trying to tell the truth....But?!??!
I spent the week-end in an extended "think hour" reading up and catching up. I was trying to see what Tariq Ali was up to. I was not disappointed:
He participated in a panel discussing what happened that has consumed us all. The people who created the Financial Weapons of Mass Destruction (as Marwan Bishara so ably put it) only offered an apology. They live in their luxury homes, enjoy their comfortable environments while 90% of the country struggles to figure out how to meet their mortgage. The Grand Canyon continues to develop ever more as the Corporations become ever more powerful. When will the people on Main Street will truly be looked after and not be left at the mercy of the corporate benefactors?
There is one irony in it all: Privatize the profits and socialize the losses. That's all that has happened.
