Aung San Suu Kyi: Her Continued Plight
Aung San Suu Kyi's trial continues. I have just seen reports that only one witness has been allowed to testify for the defense, while the regime has put on 14 witnesses. I continue to be amazed as to her resilience and her courage despite it all. The thugs who run Burma have already decided to continue detaining her.
I just visited this new site, Really Long Link to share my thoughts on her plight when her latest battle began. ASEAN has spoken. I welcome it. I wonder if the thugs understand that they have run Burma to the ground and they are the only ones who just don't seem to realize it. I welcome those in the world who refuse to call Burma by the name that thugs have decided to call it. I will refuse to do so.
This struggle is frustruating. It took Zimbabwe ten years for it to at least begin the process of reconciliation. The road is still fraught with danger. The story of Zimbabwe gives me hope that Burma will emerge from this darkness. We must continue this fight. We must never rest.
