Although organizations like the Burma Campaign, Avaaz.org and others have worked quite dilligently in trying to spread the word on Burma, the fact remains that the thugs are in charge, they will be in charge and the world has been totally impotent to do anything about it. I also commend the Elders for having named her as an honoray elder so that the world continues to remember this courageous woman. As long as the Chinese and The Thais make money and the thugs line their pockets, nothing else matters. Why should they when they can do this while the whole country is starving:



Unless someone in Beijing or Bangkok wakes up and realizes the realities, nothing will change. Such spectacles makes a mockery out of world institutions. That's the sad part of it all.
