Egypt: About Time.....
Israel continues to defy the World. I am not surprised by it, because it continues to believe that it can ride out the storm over the Gaza fiasco. It appears that it is only the Government of Israel is the only entity in the World that believes its own story. It is tough to argue with anyone who truly believes that they're a legend in their own brain!!!
What continues to be of concern is the concerted campaign by the Israeli Government to equate opposition to Israeli policy to anti-semitism. This is as much a lie as the policy itself. The Government of Israel needs to understand that opposing it does not mean opposing the Jews and the existence of the State of Israel.
The World has to keep the pressure. Egypt has stepped up. It is about time. It has agreed to keep Rafah open indefinitely. I welcome it and commend the Government of Egypt for realizing what many of us have noted for the longest time. I only hope that Egypt will sustain this further by forcing Israel to understand the fallacy of this policy.
The United States is also starting to speak up too. But, if the World is hoping for the U.S. to prevail upon Israel, they are bound to be disappointed. As long as the amen crowd pushes the fiction of the infalliability Government Policy, not much is going to happen. Israel Government apologists such as Mike Pence, John McCain, etc. etc., need to really start thinking about the future. Egypt seems to have seen the light.
