Frustruation with Old Media: Is it justified?
I am a New Media Enthusiast. I am one becuase I believe that it provides the true platform for all to be able to enlighten and broaden perspectives of the world. Old Media seems not to be adapting at all. Although I have enjoyed the infotainment of MSNBC, FOX and CNN, the value proposition has been dubious at best. I have periodically cited them in my daily write-ups. But, stuff shown on Bravo (i.e. Millionaire Matchmaker/etc.) leaves quite a lot to be desired.
What I want to do is to learn and to be educated. This is the mainstay of what "outsiders" is all about. For the first time in a long time, I had a chance to catch the latest episode of Celebrity Apprentice. Celebrity Apprentice is one of the proejct of Donald Trump, a larger-than-life ego that seems to have the magic touch in everything he does.
The subtle marketing within the program is just great. How, for instance, the Mac Air was prominently displayed was quite a feat. The show, though, featured Governor Blago as team leader leading the effort to create a new "attraction" for Universal Studio Orlando. What may not be known is that Universal Studios Orlando is part of the NBC Universal Empire.
Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice are really wonderful management training tools. They are an excellent example to assess for the study of leadership and teamwork. Leadership and teamwork are the keys to success for any organization. Whatever one may think of Mr. Trump, he sure can make put his point across.
As for the team, well they Lost!!! Blago was sent home packing. I am sure he had lots of fun, though.
