Although I have been writing about the Gaza Insanity, I continue to be hopeful. One hopeful sign is the committment by the Emir of Qatar to put a 250 Million Dollar downpayment on the reconstruction of Gaza. I have seen estimates of 1.4 Billion Dollars to rebuild Gaza after this insanity. I am however quite disappointed in that the Arab League does not have the will to meet to formulate a unified front. I continue to wonder why.
I just saw a twitter feed from the New York Time's Nicholas Kristof about a conversation he had with Daniel Lubetzky, the founder of the OneVoice Movement. I just visited their site and signed up as a supporter. Over 600,,000 supporters have signed up to support a two-state solution. I was shocked to see that over half of the supporters are Israelis. I was proud to add my name to that list.
As such grass-root movements continue, the insanity goes on. The death has exceeded 1000 with no apparent end in sight. PressTV is reporting that missiles have hit Sidrot in Israel. The problem is that We're way past the blame game. As the UN Secretary General implored all: JUST STOP. Preserving life is a lot more precious, noble and just simply humane. Let's hope and pray that such images will end and end now:
