Iran Right Now.....
There has been a concerted effort by the opposition to turn out for Quds Day. Iran's Revolutionary Guards has already warned that any protests will be dealt with harshly. In the meantime, The Coup President has had an interview with Ann Curry of NBC News pushing the fiction that there was no problem with the elections:
Ann Curry tried to ask the right questions. There were so sofballs. Yet, the man did not have the courage to answer the questions. He spoke of the law in Iran. Yet, he apparently did not understand that the laws of the Islamic Republic were violated. Furthermore, he failed to address the fact that oppostiion supporters have been harrassed and put in jail. He failed to address, as the spokesman for the regime, of the fear that the regime has against those who truly aspire the need for change. Yet, he somehow continues on.
As I write this, Mr. Mousavi's facebook page is reporting that Ahmadinjead has arrived at Tehran University to deliver his speech. He was treated by protesters with chants of "Liar, Liar, where is the 63% vote...Viva Montazeri, Viva Saneei, Torture will not work anymore..."' There is no mention in the official State Media about either Mr. Karoubi or Mr. Moussavi. There are also reports of Mr. Khatami, the Ex-President, being attacked by thugs led by the son of the Editor of Keyhan Newspaper. I have also seen reports of thousands of supporters of the Green Movement on the march. Yet, official mouthpieces of the regime paint a picture of unity and peace as Ahmadinejad speaks at Tehran University.
Such developments clearly shows the moral bankrupcy of the regime becomes ever more evident by the day. The struggle is clearly not over by a long shot. Where it goes is anyone's guess right now.
