Jacob Zuma is now President of South Africa.....


On Saturday, Jacob Zuma took the oath of office at the 4th Democratically Elected President of South Africa. I watched it with great interest. I think he seems to truly understand the immense challenge before him. The big day for him will be Monday when he announces his cabinet. If he retains Trevor Manuel as Finance Minister and Barbara Hogan as Health Minister, it will go a long way to underscore the committment he made to truly be the President for all South Africans. He rose from humble beginnings to the highest office in the land. He is as inspiring a figure as Barack Obama. He needs all the good will to tackle the challenges he has before him.
