Jeff Zucker wasn't happy.....
The tug-of-war between Jim Cramer and Jon Stewart worked it up to Jeff Zucker. Jeff Zucker is the CEO of NBC Universal. He wasn't happy!!!
Zucker was speaking at a Media Summitt sponsored by McGraw Hill. Unfortunately, either Zukcer was either delusional and did not understand what Stewart was saying. The fact was that CNBC did get it wrong. Stewart nailed CNBC in general and Cramer in particular. There have been some good reporting done by CNBC. But, that still did not negate the soft-touch approach that CNBC's anchors had with some of the leading business luminaries of our time. Stewart's mocking of the interview with Allen Stanford, the indicted financier, was quite a feat.
Stewart got it from both ends. O'Reilly at Fox talked about Stewart's deriding CNBC and the alleged liberal bias. But, Stewart also attacked Fox during the same week as well. What Zucker should do is to make sure that all his reporters live up to their responsiblities as members of the fourth estate. This is serious stuff. If nothing else, our Econmic Winter has taught us this beyond a shadow of a doubt.
