John Thune for President!??!?
January 15th 2010 08:08
John Thune is a United States Senator from South Dakota. He is a Conservative and he is apparently harboring Presidential ambitions. I read about it in Politico a few days ago. As I read the Politico Dispatch, I nearly fell off my chair in amazement.
John Thune sprang into the National Spotlight when he defeated Tom Daschle, then U.S. Senate Majority Leader. He is not to be taken lightly. I was sickened by how he ran his campaign. But, he won and he is now part of the Senate Leadership Team. I suppose compared to Jim Demint and Sarah Palin, he is a reasonable conservative--if there is such a thing.
The conservativse are on a roll right now. They will be emboldened if Martha Coakley goes down to defeat in the race to succeed Ted Kennedy. What I find amazing is that the Democrats should have seen this coming. They should have pulled out all the stops and not waited til a week and a half before primary to roll out Vickie Kennedy and all the rest of the Democratic Party luminaries. What were they thinking? If they are that out of touch, then they deserve to lose.
