KP Week-End: Iran's Cabinet is Now Official!!!
Iran's new Cabinet list has been presented to Parliament for Approval:
In analyzing this list, one finds more than half have graduate degrees. At least six are returning ministers (including the Foreign Minister). But, quite a few of the ministers are controversial. For instance, the Health Minister has advocated segregating the Medical Profession. She is a Board-Certified Physican. The Minister of Defense-Designate has an interpol warrant issued in December 2007 for his role in the bombings in Argentina in 1993. Idiotnejad's Chief of Staff was barred from Office for two months for various offenses. The Minister of Oil-Designate has no experience in the Oil Industry. Parliament has until the end of the month to decide.
As the "review" continues, what is even more distrubing is the continued strengthening of the military. This is what Pepe Escobar called it the military dictatorship of the mullahtariat. The Military Chief of Staff came out in support of the designees for the ministries of Defense, Interior and Intelligence. All three have deep ties to the Revolutionary Guards. Such active involvement by the military is quite disturbing. This will mean that the Democratic aspirations of the Iranian People will continue to be stymied for a while to come.
