KP Week-End: Second Chances
America always seems to forgive and allow everyone to change and try and do the right thing. I have been especially fascinated by what has happened to Michael Vick. Michael Vick lost it all because of his stupidity. He lost 130 Million Dollars, he lost his career and now he has a second shot at redemption. I was quite happy when I saw the NFL Commsiioner reinstate him and the Philadelphia Eagles took him on:
There have been many who have said that Michael Vick does not deserve that second chance. I disagree strongly. Everyone deserves a second chance if they truly realize what they have done has been wrong and will work to emerge a better person becasue of it. I am not sure about John Edwards, though. John Edwards not only had the affair, he now has fathered a child with the woman she had the affair with. I am not sure how he could ever redeem himself. He has a lot to answer for to his family and his lord. Beyond that, the only thing I can wish for him is a wish for redemption.
The story of these two public figures should teach us that all humans are that: humans. Humans have shortcomings. The key is to realize the difference between right and wrong and learn from it. Whether everyone learns from it is something that all could only hope for.
