Iraq has fallen off the radar screen in the so-called U.S. Mainstream Media. One has to really dig around to see what is going on in Iraq. To get a sense of what is going on, I visited Iraq Body Count at http://www.iraqbodycount.org/
The latest report is that 10 people were killed this past Wednesday. I celebrated the news of no US casualties for December. But, ordinary Iraqis continue to die and suffer. One wonders what the future will hold for this hapless nation. As this suffering goes on, Chemical Ali got his fourth death sentence. He will continue to get away easy because of all the suffering he instigated on the Kurds. My reaction to it was: who cares?
Iraq will continue to present problems for the longest time. The "happy talk" on Iraq will continue to be that: happy talk. What will happen next?
