Obama & Iran: Will Things Change?
Obama has started a "change" in the rhetoric to Iran. I welcome it. Pepe Escober of Real News has a very direct, interesting and insightful analysis of what to expect:
I would hope that the Obama Adminstration listens to all sides. Although I recently read that Vali Nasr was named to work with Richard Holbrooke on Afghanistan, I wonder why Dennis Ross has even been considered for being Iran's envoy. They are many, many qualified Americans who understand Iran and can play an effective role. You want a farsi speaker, a muslim and a scholar to get this done to establish crediblity. Dealing with the unpredictable nature of the Iranian Government is a tall order for anyone right now. But, we have got to try a new way and find someone who is willing to take this on.
