Rush Limbaugh on Disasters and Race
June 18th 2008 16:23
Do people still listen to Rush Limbaugh? Really? I'm surprised that he hasn't gone the way of the dinosaurs.
Crooks and Liars points out a classic Rush move, blame anyone who is poor and/or black for their own problems. This time by comparing the victims of Katrina to the floods happening in the Midwest right now.
Can you say apples and oranges? The death counts alone separate the two. Then you look at the economic levels of the two areas affected, the amount of damage done to each area, how much help each area has received, and so on. Frankly comparing the two seems laughable. But then that is just the sort of thing that goold ole Rush does.
From Rush's own words he is not a fan of anyone with skin darker than his own. I can almost imagine he was rubbing his hands with glee during Katrina. Right along with Pat Robertson. Though it would be so easy to brush Rush and his lot off as a few crackpots the fact that he has a nationally syndicated radio show says that a lot more than a handful of conservatives put stock into what he has to say.
