Some Updated Developments On Healthcare
The last 24 hours has seen the so-called "bull dogs" in the U.S. House agreeing to sign on to the healthcare reform bandwagon. That's the good news. But, the Senate is still dragging its feet and the effort may yet die. In the meantime, the onslaught by the so-called conservatives continues onward with a ferocity that is just scary.
What the healthcare debate in America shows is a bigger picture about what the role of a Government should be. Some of the staggering statistics seem to be lost. The conservatives say that the only way to create wealth is to, in effect, make sure that the richest one percent continue to get even richer.
The basic fundemental things seem to truly be lost by the special interests who are narrow minded enough to avoid the big picture. . Some say that a Government should insure that the 99% of the country who are workers should work to insure that they are educated, are healthy, have some reasonably decent infrastructure to depend on and then they will go all out to create the wealth that is necessary to sustain society. What a novel idea..if only those in power embraced it and forgot the ancillary arguments!!!!
