The Battle Over Healthcare Reform in the U.S.
I continue to be concerned about the debate over healthcare. President Obama has stepped up to insure that healthcare remains at the forefront. Although the Democrats are cutting their debate within their respective caucuses, the need to achieve healthcare reform remains as vibrant as ever.
The Republicans seem to have shot themselves in the foot big time. The idea of doing nothing is something the Republicans seem to continue to cling on to by slowing it down and trying to shift the debate. It seems to be working, because the polls indicate that the Adminstration's plan seem to be losing steam. I think that Republican True intentions was exemplified by Jim DeMint, the US Senator from South Carolina when he reminded the faithful of his base that defeating Obama on healthcare will insure that he will be broken and that it will be his "Waterloo". It seems that this has arisen the giant. As I have periodically written here and KP's sister site, Outsider Views, the cost of doing nothing will be even worst. Whether our policy makers realize that is another matter.
