The Obama Expectations Game
Mr. Obama's big day is approaching fast. Sunday, there was party!! Today is King Day in America. The President-Elect called everyone to action to serve. Now, On Tuesday at 12:01 PM EST, he will take on the enormous challenges facing him.
The write-up by William Kole of the Associated Press (Source: Really Long Link noted how the world is now starting the enormous challenges Mr. Obama will be taking on. The whole word needs to understand that it took a long time to get here. It is not going to be fixed tomorrow. Obama is an ordinary guy who has had potentially greatness thrust upon him. The whole word needs to give the guy a chance to breath and take the challenges. I view his team as a strong team that can make a good run at it.
I view Afghanistan and Gaza as the biggest challenges. I have written about Gaza over the past number of weeks in Outsiderviews. As for Afghanistan, I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the report of the attack on the so-called Afghan Government by the Secretary General of NATO. Although I view Mr. Obama's silence on Gaza as disappointing in light of the immense suffering by the ordinary civilans, I am willing to give him a chance. Simple fairness dictates it.
