The Plight of Roxana Saberi (A Brief Update)
I had been monitoring updates on her case. I went out to visit the official Iranian Judiciary website to see if there were any further developments. Besides the official directive of the head of Iran's Judiciary, I did not see anything. Google had over 1.4 Million Hits though when I checked it out earlier. So, her case continues to garner international attention--and rightly so.
There is a posting on FreeRoxana.net about more than one judge presiding at her appeal. The problem is that this is an alleged National Security Matter. But, with the legal team boosted by the presence of Shirin Ebadi, I think she would have at least a fair shot. I still am of the view that she would end up being pardoned by Ayatollah Khameini.
