The struggle in Pakistan

Pakistan is at war. Pakistan has been working to push back the Taliban from the outskirts of Islamabad. Although I welcome the offensive, the bigger question of the viability of the Pakistani State is something that is worrisome.

Pakistan is a failed state because it cannot tend to the basic needs of its people. The people are desparate. There needs to be a concerted effort to insure that Pakistan does not become another Somalia. The road back will be even more treachorous.
