The Tragedy of Copenhagen
Copenhagen ended yesterday. As I listened to this clip from NBC, I wondered about what a waste of time it all was. There is a supposed "framework", but all Copehangen was a big talking shop where everyone had a good time and talked the talk. Although President Obama tried to put a positive spin on things, it amounted to nothing.
Of all the speeches and activities, there seems to be one thing everyone has in common: What is clear is that our planet is in trouble. The sceptics have had a field day as exemplified by Sarah Palin and the Senior U.S. Senator from Oklahoma. But, there is of course the continued wide divide between what is true and why is fiction. I congratulate FactCheck.org for pointing out the discrepancies between what Sarah Palin and Al Gore's recent debate.
I also laughed at Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinjead. They criticized the United States when both their countries make their living currently from the very addiction that the World is trying to rid itself of.
What was the conclusion? Simple: no change!!! To me, that's the biggest tragedy of Copenhagen.
