Think You Had a "Rough" Day....
January 20th 2010 07:34
As I have been working on my daily write-ups for "outsiders", I had to pass this on--courtesy of All Pro Dad:
Think you've had a rough day at work?
In 1912, while campaigning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Theodore Roosevelt was shot by saloonkeeper John Schrank in a failed assassination attempt. Determined to still give his speech, Roosevelt proceeded to unleash a fiery oratory with a bullet still in his chest. After he was done, Roosevelt was rushed to the hospital where doctors treated the wound but deemed it too dangerous to remove the bullet. Roosevelt carried this lead souvenir in his lungs around with him the rest of his life.
Obviously, Roosevelt was very passionate about his work. And so is Tony Dungy. Watch Coach talk about how to recognize your God-given gifts, and use them in a vocation you find meaningful.Your text goes here
I am sure that I will not want to be in President's shoes as all the talking heads (which unfortunately I am turning out to be one) think about the implications of what happened in Massachuttes. 2010 will a tough, grinding year. But, one should not shy away from a fight and must always do what is right. Teddy Roosevelt reminded us of it as he marched on. I do wonder whether some of our political leaders have that courage and will not think of themselves and the next election.
