What I would have asked Gadaffi
Gadaffi, Libya's "Brother leader" , came out to the UN this past week and spoke for 90 minutes. I found the entire thing to be hillarious. This prompted me to check out his website: Really Long Link to see the issues that he talked about. I caught him He has a world view, that's for sure. But, what I would have asked him would have entailed the following:
1) You led a coup against King Idris 40 years ago because things were simply not right in your view. Tell us your view of how Libya has improved?
2) There are some in the world who say that Libya replaced one dynasty with the Gadafi dynasty. You recently styled yourself "King of Kings of Africa". What gives?
3) Why were you so made at Switerzland? Is it right to have your son beating up servants? Doesn't this go against the very image of equality you have tried to project through the "blowing" up of the Libyan State?
4) With all the oil revenue over the last 40 years, how come LIbya's unemployment rate is so high? Why is Tripoli's trash not being picked up every day? It seems to those of us on the outside that Libya should be a shinning example for the whole world--yet the suffering of the people is at at all time high?
5) What is your fear of Democracy?
I would have been fascinated by his answers.
