What is Israel Afraid of?
The Government of Israel blocked Noam Chomsky from crossing into the West Bank:
One has to ask why did the Israeli Government do this. Despite the challenges of how it treats her Arab Minority, Israel is a very vibrant Democracy. But, part of being a Democratic State is the ability to hear all points of view. Professor Chomsky is a man who has definite ideas and Israel should not be afraid to let him speak. I found it quite interesting that there was nothing on the Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry Website on this issue.
On a side note, the Proximity Talks have begun. I am not optimistic about the prospects in light of Israel not agreeing to discuss Jersuleaum and its continued policy to systematically exclude Palestinians from their own land. It is tough to be an optimist.
